Maya!

Since, I like to archive this blog like a diary, I wanted to write something about Maya.

Since I was little I have always loved cats.... I'm just a cat person:) And while growing up, I I always had cats.. When I went to college of course, while living in apartments, I was cat free for 4 years... and hated it so when I graduated from college, my brother gave me Maya as a graduation present.

On New Year's Eve, we had to put Maya to sleep. She was a loyal pet full of personality. She was almost 9 years old. She was independent and moody, which is what I loved about her!

Nikki,
I am so sorry about your loss. I know how hard it is to lose a pet. I know you will soon give another one a good home. Our pets bring so much into our lives and give us everything they can without question. In time it will get easier but you will never forget all the love and companionship that Maya gave you and your family.

Even though I have never really been a cat person, I will miss Maya. She has been a member of our family as long as you have. I have lost dogs, so I know how much an animal becomes a part of your life.

Ok...doesn't Josh hate cats? I'm surprised he didn't try to kill your cat! I swear he tried several times to kill mine.

On a serious note, I'm a cat person as well. I got a cat when I was about 4. A couple of weeks before my wedding, 18 years later, my mom ran over her with her car and we had to put her to sleep. It was so sad...I know how you feel.

Nikki,
I love cats too, so I understand how you feel. I know how hard it is to lose a pet who's been in your family for so long.

I do not like cats (I'm a dog person) but I am very sorry to hear that Maya is no longer with you guys...I've heard Christy and Burt talk about her and what a personality she had. She was really pretty.
