Down to business post.

It's time for a medical update so, here is a boring run down... no pictures:)

I am now going to the doctor like every three or four days so I won't update every time unless there is something new. Last week at the ultrasound we did, which was likely to be the last weight check, the girls weighed 5lbs 6 oz a piece. In two days I will be officially 36 weeks and so I am set to go into labor at any time.

This morning I was over 1 cm dialated so we are just waiting now.... The doctor did reassure me that she will not make me go more than 38 weeks so that's just over two weeks at the longest. I can't wait to see my girls and give them kisses!!!

Thanks to all my family, especially Aunt Christy this weekend, the house is clean, the girls room is ready, the van is bought and the car seats ready, bags are packed and by the door, there is food in my pantry and freezer it is go time at any moment.

I feel anxious and nervous and really really weepy so f you talk to me in the next weeks and I burst into tears.. just ignore me and the hormones. Any relaxation tips? I feel like I am so nervous I can't enjoy the next weeks.... Any helpful advice?

One is to walk, but you may not feel like that is relaxing at this point, another is to take warm baths and read.

Instead of baths take showers in your chair :)!

Nikki you will make it just fine. I love your mini van and still wish I had one. I have always wanted one since I was in my twenties and Amy's dad always talked me out of it. I am still going to get one one of these days if just to cart my grand kids around in. The car seat covers look great. I know how you feel about wanting everything ready before you give birth. I was always like that to a fault. Daniel loved his slip and slide last year but was a little intimidated by it. Good luck with everything, you and your family are in my thoughts.

Nothing boring about that post! Thanks for the update!!!You're almost there!

What about floating in a swimming pool? I suppose the last thing you want to do is wiggle into a bathing suit, but it would probably feel nice to feel buoyant. :)

This isn't a tip about relaxation, but look long and hard at Eli. He's been your baby for so long. When you bring the girls home and then look at him, he will appear to have grown a foot and matured by ages. He will be a little man. When I returned home from the hospital after having Keith,(that was shortly after the dove flew back to Noah with a branch in its beak; we were all so excited!), I looked at Brad (they were only 15 months apart, no parental planning there)and wondered who took my "other" baby and replaced him with this cute little boy?

Oh man, so exciting, I can't wait to see them! You've even got me a little teary. I'm assuming since I haven't heard anything you've made it to your 36 weeks ... yay!

As for how to relax, I don't have any tips, as I worked way too hard up until the day I went into labor.

Hi Nikki,
I am a friend of Amy & Josh's from church growing up...and I also have twins! I helped Amy with the book of advice that she gave you awhile back.
Anyway I love to read your blog(not STALK of course!!!). I did not make it nearly as far as you have, but to relax, I always took a warm bath and then propped my feet up on pillows in bed and read. Mind you, I did not have a toddler running around, but I'm sure Josh would be willing to help out with that! ;-)
Also, I read your article this morning in the paper and got a good laugh from it! I had some similar experiences but not that extreme!! Crazy!
Anyway, please don't hesitate to come to me with any twin questions you might have, especially once the girls are here! Good luck to you guys! Can't wait to see pics!
